PS: Not for fainthearted. This is the most shocking and sad I've ever seen on a TV-show, I was even quite nervous myself while watching it. Its a heartbreaking episode since "the truth is often not pretty" and reveals who you really are. It can be inconvienent for your nearest that may trusted you, but honesty last longest.
The episode raises some interesting questions. Is it a good thing to reveal all truth?, or is something better to leave undisclosed? The confident host does a great job here, and towards the end he even try to appear as therapist too, because he feels so sorry for the family.
After have done all this bad things and confessed it, I think Lauren have a good base to start a better life. If she not had been pressed to confess, she probably would continuoe to do the wrong things until anybody exposed her, or until fatal consequences. Maybe this can save herself, her marriage and relations before its too late? Sometimes things have to be destroyed so something better can be rebuilt. I think its a good thing to confess bad stuff, it gives you the pressure to do something about it! And you neigther have to live in constant fear of being exposed.
But what about you? Would you dare to participate in "The Moment of Truth"?, or do you have to many shells in the closet?(norwegian saying). Do you think you're a good person? Thats the critical question Lauren fails. She may know it in her heart that she is a sinner, but in her mind she maybe wont realize it. We often like to think that we are so much better than we really are!
The good thing is that if Christianity is true, than we all can get absolusion for our sins, and a new start to do good. Remember that God punished himself for our transgressions, as Isaiah prophecied about Jesus Christ a.k.a. God!:
"Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all. "
-Isaiah 53,4-6
