Dreadful tornado - do you care?

PS: Strong scenes. And CNN-reporter Anderson Cooper brings you the story behind the video. From this you got the impression how scared and traumatized the locals in Joplin are after the dreadful and furious tornado that just hit them. As you hear they desperately shouts to God when the forcible, horrific and dreadful tornado passes with the sound of 100 freight trains. The whole town is wrecked and many killed. It's may not easy to watch the video and listening to the panicked and scared people. But its may necessary to understand the suffering and wake your compassion. Superficial reading of news often makes it more to statistics than personal destinies.

I need a reminder on the worlds sufferings. I feel I live in a bubble in Norway, easy to be so indifferent, forget it and dont care. Even if the most evident suffering is far away for many of us, we can at least follow Jesus Christ who wants us to pray for and give to the poor. Peoples are suffering, wake up from your bubble!
I recommend you to support Joplin through Samaritan's Purse!

But even how dangerous and devastating tornadoes are, they're too ave-inspiring, fascinating and migthy!
And CNN has an interesting article about why tornadoes are the most terrifying natural disaster.

Survived doomsday?

The rapture is the phenomen described in e.g. Matt 24:30-31, Luke 17:34-37 and 1 Thess 4:17. And as you can see in this great rapture-prank. Its said to be the first step right before doomsday, and the worlds end. If the Bible is true it may can happen anytime. But it's a big discussion how the Bible's endtime prophecies should be interpreted and how it eventually will play out. But the few american christian's believing in doomsday today, have got massive critics from mainstream christianity because of e.g. Matt 24:36-44.

It has been a huge worldwide hype about the todays judgement day.
But even if the world had much fun about the may21doomsday-believing christians, there was actually peoples honestly believing in this weird interpretation of the Bible. Peoples who've left their homes, jobs etc just to warn fellow americans about judgement day. Peoples who've spent all their money on doomsday-campaigns. Peoples who may get a really hard life afterwords. Peoples who may will be too ashamed to participate more in the society. Peoples who will go through a big crisis in faith and vision. I hope people will take care of them even how much fool they've maked of them selfs. But I think their leaders deserve the critique tomorrow.
harold camping false prophet
Here's a story from New York-times about some childrens having a hard time because of their fanatic 21maydoomsday-parents. This comment is also worth reading. And if you was a 21maydoomsday-believer, here's a guide for you to what to do now.

After it didnt happen anything may 21, Harold Camping who started it all has postponed in until october 21. Yes, it is just as stupid as it sounds.
Let's see if we survive oct 21, and dec 21, 2012 too! But even if I dont think the judgement day can be predicted, Im at least prepared for the apocalypse if christianity is true. I hope you to are, if not I recommend to watch this.

"Harold couldn't be more right. The end of the world is coming, we just don't know the time of it." says Will Graham to The Christian Post.

Is the security level too high for Al Qaida?

Very funny, but fortunately security is too high these days that terrorists hardly can bomb anymore.

Al qaida promised revenge after Osama's death. But they has'nt attacked yet. They dont seem to be strong enough to attack the west. The security and investigation is obviously on a too high level to let Al qaida kill some of us. As far as I know they only got three significant attacks in the west (9/11,Madrid,London) in 11 years. And now its 6 years since the London-attack. Do we have to be so scared anymore when they regularly comes up with new threats against the western world?

Bombalarm at Orly Airport
I've experienced the terrorfear my self at Orly Airport, Paris. In the terminal waiting for checkin, it suddenly came a bunch of Police and armed soldiers. They started evacuating a large area of the terminal, and pulling us further and further away. A bombexpert with a heavy west and big suitcase arrived. They had discovered a suspicious bag. We had been evacuated a distance away so I did'nt see how they did it, but after a while we heard a loud boom! They had blown up the bag. But this time it was only false bombalarm, only a forgotten bag. I got an impression of how much the western world fear terrorists.

But thanks to Police and governments prioritizing security we obviously dont need to be very scared of Al Qaida and other islamists anymore. And now when Osama is killed, they're probably further weakend. Remember that you have bigger chance winning the lottery-jackpot than dying in terrorist attack!

Obama's(imitator) alternative speach on Osama's death, great! Even a few references to Willow Smith and Rebecca Black.

Was it a good thing to kill Osama?

Very funny ad from Tele2-Norway! But it's true, cheap(or free) calls are hard to resist with my telecommunication operator Tele2!

Here SWAT and America obviously got the wrong man. Can we be sure they got the right man this time?

a nice peace-activist I met
The conspiracy-theories has started. Some think it's suspicious that Osama allegedly was shot, than dumped to the ocean, and America still has'nt published evidences for the killed Osama. Obama sure need good publicity and achievements before the coming election, as well as a good reason for all their controversial activity in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.
American government says they has'nt published the photo's yet because their too gruesome. But they may publish it soon because of all the pressure. Just as Obama just published his birth-attest to refute the speculations that he was'nt American.
Im not very worried by the conspiracy-theories, and many mysteries has a logical explanation, as the Penta-lawn 2000☺. UPDATE: And now it seems as the conspirazy-theories has lost its sting, after al-qaida confirmed Osama's death.
I mostly trust Obama, American government and their special forces in Pakistan that they really know what they are doing. I think they're honest and that they really want to to the right things, and the best for the world.

Some means war and killing is always wrong. And some religious is pacifist's too. But have they thought about the concequences of just being pacifist peace-daydreamers? According to Rom 13:3-4 the government is God's servant to our best who bears sword to protect us against evildoers. What if Osama had a chance to escape if they had'nt killed? Capturing him alive could also be very problematic. And when Osama is dead, Al-Qaida propably does'nt have any strong, carismatic leader who can inspire to terror as Osama anymore. I believe killing of Osama saves many other lifes!

Here another christian response. But usually it's good arguments both for and against. Let's continoue the debate under before I mess up this article totally. Please correct me if you think Im wrong!

I think this is a good summary of the last week as a Twittrer wrote:
"A prince gets married, the bad guy is dead. It's a real Disney weekend here on earth."

The airplane's life after death

I love the Discovery-series "How do they do it?". In this episode it's really cool to see how a airplane is destroyed and recycled. It's quite sad when the airplanes is just parked on a graveyard waiting for their death and fatal wrecking, but later you see that it's ressurected to a new life as phone's, computer's and TV's!

demolition, old neighbour-house
But what about you? When you're becoming old, placed on old people's home just waiting for your death? Or worse, destructed as the airplane by sickness or violence. But unlike the airplane your body won't recycle and rise to something better. It will just rot away.

But is it really much more hope for airplanes than for us? If the Bible is true it's still hope for us after death if we put our trust in God. Just read e.g. John 3:16, John 11:25, John 10:27-28 and Rev 21:3-4
You may think this is only wishful thinking for people who need hope. But in fact I find Christianity quite rational to believe in, but that's another blogpost.....

2 billion watching royal wedding?

If you have not heard about the royal wedding yet, you must have been in the third world or at another planet.
Seems as almost every media tells totally uncritical about (over) 2 billion watching the royal wedding (live). Is it really likely that almost every third person in the world watched it? And that the royal wedding is many times bigger than both the FIFA-WC-final, Superbowl or Eurovision song contest?

Live from palace one time I was there.
But I cant find the 2 billion-claim much convincing. Even in the best broadcasting time Eurovision Song Contest is only viewed by around 120 millions in Europe. And the SuperBowl-final has an average view of 111 millions mostly in America. If the mainparts of the western world only can gather around 230 millions in best broadcasting time, where do they get the other 1,77 billions from? FIFA WC-finals is estimated to around 700 millions, and even FIFA admits thats exaggarated.
The royal wedding is propably only a big thing in the western world, than we can eliminate a couple of billions in Africa, Asia and South-America.
And remember this wedding was sent in the worst broadcasting time, on a fridaymorning when America was sleeping, and me and the most of Europe was busy at work or school.

In reality I think the royal wedding was available to around 2 billions, but media may have misunderstood or just exaggerated it until 2 billions viewers! Pinged articles to get readers: 1, 2,3
